Quickly Adjust Kerning and Leading

Kerning and leading are very important details to remember when designing with type.  In Adobe’s Creative Suite 4, you can highlight two letters and adjust the kerning between them via the kerning (or tracking) drop-down within the Character Palette.

Alternatively, you can place the cursor between two letters and use ⌥ + left or right arrow keys to jump up and down by intervals of 20. Hold ⌘ as well to jump by intervals of 100.

To quickly adjust your leading (or line-height), use ⌥ + up or down arrow keys to jump up and down by intervals of 2. Hold ⌘ as well to jump by intervals of 10.
